About

Dwight Beach is such a wonderful spot to vacation for the day. The centrally located dock is an iconic Lake of Bays landmark that features a pavilion with a picnic table underneath. The pavilion often sports festive seasonal decor throughout the fall and winter months. The sandy shoreline extends from either side of the dock and is lined with towering white pines. The sand is lovely for walking-soft and comfortable on your bare feet. The water extending from the beach is shallow and has a nice hard packed bottom of “rippled” sand. The shoreline extending from the east side of the dock is landscaped with a stone retaining wall and stone steps that access the road. Partway up the retaining wall there is a creek that flows into the lake from the other side of the road which is a fun place for kids to jump across and play in. To the right of the dock there is a fully paved boat launch on one side and two smaller floating docks on the other for docking your boat. A shoreline garden featuring native plant species as well as several maple trees throughout the beach were planted several years ago as part of a re-greening project. Picnic tables and Muskoka chairs provide seating throughout. Dwight Beach offers lovely views of Lake of Bays-from this vantage point Port Cunnington extends into the distance to the east.

Public washrooms available at nearby Gouldie Park (1009 Dwight Bay Road).
