About

The Dwight Beach Trail is an out and back jaunt measures 4km in length (2km each way) and is more of a road walk than a trail. Starting at the Lake of Bays Municipal offices, where there is a good sized parking lot, turn right onto Dwight Beach Rd and head towards Dwight Beach where you’ll enjoy beautiful views of Lake of Bays and the landmark dock and pavilion. As you carry on along the road the route brings you to a bridge which crosses the Boyne River where it meets the lake. The next stretch has incredible views as the south facing side of the road abuts the lakeshore. The turnaround point is located at Stewart Memorial Church. This picturesque church is surrounded by white picket fences and was constructed in 1887. As you make your way back to the beach, take a left on Dwight Bay Rd and walk into the village of Dwight where you can stop at a local cafe or shop before making your way back towards the Municipal office to round out the walk. The Dwight Beach Trail terrain is mostly flat and will get you a total of approximately 5000 steps toward your daily goal.

Public washrooms available at nearby Gouldie Park (1009 Dwight Bay Road).
