Stargazing Hikes: Immersive Cosmic Experiences

For those seeking a truly immersive stargazing experience, Huntsville is offering a range of stargazing activities from October 17 – November 17, 2024. These immersive programs, led by experienced astronomers and astrophotographers, provide a deep dive into the world of celestial observation, offering hands-on learning opportunities, expert guidance, and the chance to connect with like-minded stargazers from around the world.

2024 Lineup:

October 17 – 19 at Deerhurst Resort – Adventure Park:

• Thursday October 17 – Moon! Guided Hike (Full Moon – Hunter’s Moon) – 7-9pm
• Friday October 18 – Beginner Stargazing and Astrophotography – 7-9pm
• Saturday October 19:
  • Astronomy in Action Planetarium Experience – 1-4pm (Planetarium Experience will take place inside Deerhurst Resort)
  • Beginner Stargazing and Astrophotography – 7-9pm

October 26 at Deerhurst Resort – Adventure Park:

• Saturday, October 26 – Beginner Stargazing and Astrophotography – 7-9pm
• Saturday, October 26 – Beginner Stargazing and Astrophotography – 9-11pm

October 31 – November 2 at Arrowhead Provincial Park:

• Thursday October 31 – Halloween Hike – CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER
• Friday November 1 – Journey Through the Night Sky – 7-9pm

November 15 – 17 at Arrowhead Provincial Park:

• Friday November 15 – Beginner Stargazing and Astrophotography (Full Moon – Beaver Moon) – 7-9pm
• Saturday November 16 – Journey Through the Night Sky – 7-9pm
• Saturday November 16 – Journey Through the Night Sky – 9-11pm
• Sunday November 17 – Beginner Stargazing and Astrophotography – 7-9pm

Guided hikes are limited to 25 visitors per hike. To guarantee your space you must sign up in advance.
