Skijoring
January 7, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
If you’re looking for a fun-filled family activity, bring your four legged friend out to Arrowhead Provincial Park this winter and try Skijoring!
Skijoring involves a cross-country skier providing power with their skis and poles, while a dog provides a little additional power by pulling ahead. It’s a blast!
Location: Birches Parking Lot, Arrowhead Provincial Park
Raven’s Watch will be providing all necessary skijoring equipment for these events and it will be available to loan. There is also the option of purchasing gear if you find you enjoy skijoring and wish to skijor on your own.
Don’t have a dog? No problem! You can reserve one of The SportLab’s furry friends to try the sport out.
Please register as follows:
- If you are a first time skijorer with your own dog, register for one of three 45 minute time slots for a one-on-one session. The SportLab will have team members on site to provide instruction.
- If you wish to skijor with one of The SportLab’s dogs, register for one of three 45 minute time slots for a one-on-one session. The SportLab will have team members on site to provide instruction.
- If you wish to borrow skijoring equipment, please register as quantities are limited.
You will find an Eventbrite ticket for each time slot, including borrowing equipment.
If required, Ski Rentals are available at Arrowhead Park.
For those who have skijored before (and have their own dog and equipment), please drop in any time between 1 and 4pm on the above dates. Registration is NOT required.
Skijoring is something the clinicians at The SportLab enjoy and these events provide an opportunity to share this fun, healthy activity with others!
Check out The SportLab’s Facebook Page for the most current updates on the skijoring events.
And be sure to check back on the day of the events to ensure the weather is on our side.
We will ski you later!
Please Note: Skijoring is FREE with your Park Permit and Ski Pass.
