Huntsville Public Library – Virtual Knitting Circle
April 22, 2020 @ 3:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Knitting at home? Want to show others what you are making? Interested in chatting while you work? Kids and teens who can knit a bit on their own at home are invited to join a Virtual Knitting Circle for Kids and Teens! Amber McNair, Youth Services Librarian, will be offering this bi-weekly virtual program using Zoom. If you would like to be added to the email list to receive bi-weekly meeting details, please email Amber McNair. Please note, this is not an instructional program (Amber’s knitting skills are still at very basic dishcloths and cowl scarves)!
How to Participate
- Gather your knitting needles, yarn and a project you are working on
- Download the Zoom app
- Sign in with the Zoom Meeting ID or link, along with a password, that has been emailed to the participant’s parent or to the teen by Amber
- During the program, work on your knitting alongside other kids and teens in the Zoom meeting, and see each others’ projects while in Gallery View

Update regarding Zoom
In order to follow Zoom security recommendations, we will be implementing selective meeting invitations, a required password and the waiting room feature.
The participant’s parent or the teen participant will receive a bi-weekly email from Amber McNair with meeting details. The email will contain the Zoom Meeting ID and link, along with a required meeting password. When joining the Zoom meeting, participants will first enter a waiting room, and the meeting host will allow entry.
If you would like to be added to the email list to receive bi-weekly meeting details, please email Amber McNair.
