There is no other activity more synonymous with winter fun than the traditional winter carnival. February is the month for winter carnivals throughout the communities of Huntsville and Lake of Bays, and with activities for kids young and old, the Dwight Winter Carnival is a highlight of the season for the whole family.

Dwight Winter Carnival

The Dwight Winter Carnival returns to the Dwight Community Centre for its 50th year on February 28 and 29, 2020!

Bring the kids out Friday night for the “Kids Kapers,” a night of games and prizes where everyone is a winner! From 5:30 – 7pm the kids can enjoy games like Bottle Flip, Mini Golf, Hockey Challenge, Balloon Pop! Food and games are free with a Carnival Button, and extra game tickets can be purchased for a minimal charge.

The Carnival starts back up on Saturday at 9am with a full slate of activities until 3pm. The activities include:

There is also entertainment for the kids happening throughout the day as Sing Along Tim takes the Community Centre stage at 10:30am and 1:30pm for 2-half hour shows. Sing Along Tim writes and performs songs that speak to children directly, using their own language to reflect the world they see and experience everyday. The lyrics  combine word play, humour, observation and empathy, and are coupled with music that is catchy, dynamic and textured. The music is performed in a style that is relaxed and engaging, that invites participation, and inspires children to have fun with music and language and use them as tools for communication. He has won awards for his songs, and played all over Canada including the Wee Festival of Theatre & Culture for Early Years, Oakville Children’s Festival and Mariposa Folk Festival where he was thrilled to meet and perform with Bram Morrison.

With all the activities and entertainment happening, we know you’re going to be hungry. Lucky for you there will be plenty of food options throughout the day!
